Congratulations to Mr. Miller’s Current Issues students, Jared Thomas, Haden Rigsby, Matthew Roberts, and Joe Wray (not pictured), for winning this year’s Stock Market Game! Throughout the year, these students have researched stocks, analyzed graphs, followed news reports, and focused their investments on AI and pharmaceutical companies—a strategy that led to their success. The Stock Market Game is a nationwide initiative that teaches students financial literacy and investment strategy through a long-term simulation. Participants manage a mock portfolio by buying and selling stocks, bonds, and mutual funds traded on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Students monitor their investments using a smartphone app and adjust their portfolios to maximize their returns. Mr. Miller’s Current Issues class competed against 200 teams across the state and won the Stock Market Game an impressive seven out of the last nine years!
